YOUGAKUJI Buddhist WEDDING PROGRAM
- 新郎新婦入堂・・・The couple enter to the Hondo of Yougakuji Temple. And they sit in front of the Buddha.
- 開式の辞・・・・・To give an opening address
- 祈願・・・・・・・To read the heart sutra.
- 表白文の奉読・・・Report to the Buddha.
- 寿珠の授与・・・・Presentation of the Juzu(a Buddhist rosary). And they exchange of Juzu. Bride and Groom.
- おさとしの言葉・・Declaration by the buddhist priest.
- 誓いの言葉・・・・Wedding vow. The bridegroom repeats marriage vows on behalf of the couple.
- 両家誓いの盃・・・San-san-kudo is ceremony of drinking sake(rice wine) at Japanese-style wedding.Groom and bride drink sake thee times each from thee different-sized sake cup "Sakazuki".To exchange cups means marriage vows.Warrior "Bushi" originally exchange cups before a fight in Edo period, and this custom became popular among common people and introduced into wedding.

- 新郎新婦退堂・・・The couple exit to the hall.
